2009/2010 Leadership
Nicole Dolan
President
Nicole Dolan grew up in Gainesville, FL and moved to New York in the spring of 2004, shortly after graduating from the University of Florida with a BA in Business Administration and minor in Art History. Seeking to establish a sense of community and balance in the city that never sleeps, she started volunteering with NY Cares and found her niche in serving others. Nicole joined Rotaract Club at the UN in January of 2008 while looking to take her involvement to an International level and found Rotary to be a perfect match. In addition to NY Cares and RCUN, she is actively involved in teaching ESL through Columbia University’s Community Impact Program, mentoring an amazing high school junior through iMentor, and assisting with research and workshops for Career Gear. She enjoys all outdoor activities (particularly those that involve water), brunch with friends, cheering for the Gators & Steelers and exploring new neighborhoods/cities/countries.

Merva Faddoul
Vice-President
Growing up in Byblos-Lebanon, Merva has always been fascinated by different cultures, stories and creative ways in which people can help each other. New York and Rotaract provided the perfect space for her to pursue her interests. Merva currently works for an NGO that connects university students across the world through new media technologies. In addition, she writes and directs short films which have screened in three different continents. Merva holds an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California and a BA in Communications from the Lebanese American University. She loves to travel, laugh and meet new people.
Rita Shulgina
Secretary
Rita Shulgina is originally from Belarus and moved back to New York City in early 2008. After graduating from Northwestern University, Rita lived in Chicago for almost two years working in Change Management consulting and being very active in the Rotaract Club of Chicago. Upon moving to New York, joining the United Nations club was only a natural stepping stone. Rita enjoys volunteering in New York and has been involved in projects with tutoring youth, teaching immigrants in Queens and Chinatown English, and most recently, coordinating various volunteer opportunities for her fellow Rotaractors. Aside from Rotaract, she is very active in Northwestern’s Alumni Association and frequently helps out at admissions events by giving advice and sharing her college experience with High School students. She loves exploring New York’s “hidden gems,” traveling to remote global destinations, and meeting new people from all over the world.
